Arizona’s monsoon season is a violent force of nature. To help weather the storm, take these provisions:
Plan ahead by creating an emergency supply kit that includes non-perishable food items, water, a first-aid kit, a battery-operated radio, flashlights, extra batteries and any necessary medications.
Be aware of the difference between a monsoon watch and warning. A watch means conditions are indicating severe weather. A warning means severe weather is about to occur or has already occurred.
When a storm is approaching, avoid using computers or wired video games. Don’t touch household wiring if you can hear thunder.
